sat22oct10:00 pmsat12:00 pmNight Sky Walk - Stargazing (Xarraca) - 22.00h

Event Details

One of the best places to observe the night sky is Cape Xarraca!

After a 20 minute walk on a good dirt road to an elevated place (no cliffs, no drops), surrounded by the sea and silence, we settle down to listen to Etienne’s information about stars, planets, our galaxy and lightyears.

We will look at the Milky Way, Jupiter, Saturn and Mars, plus we expect shooting stars from the Orionids! And learn what a shooting star really is.

Assisted by a laser pointer, we will do our “skywalk”: starting with the Big Dipper we find the North Star, the autumn square Pegasus with our closest neighbour galaxy Andromeda, the Red-eyed Bull and the Seven Sisters..

Please bring a torch and something to sit/lay on

DATE & TIME: Saturday 22nd October – 22.00h

MEETING POINT: Parking of Cala Xarraca beach. From here we will drive for 5 minutes to the starting point of the walk.
