Wednesday Walk – The Chicken Loop – CANCELLED

Gentle caminos lead us through the countryside and into the forest before a steady climb takes us high into the hills. Near the top, we discover the atmospheric ruins of Can Ramon de sa Serra, at a beautiful lookout with far-reaching views across Ibiza’s south-west and towards the iconic Es Vedrà.

From here, we descend through the forest and loop back along peaceful country caminos. This 12km route starts near Es Cuco, famous for its chicken dishes, and later reveals where its name comes from as we pass a free-range chicken farm filled with happy chickens.

Please note: We’ll be walking around sunset time and returning after sunset, but this is not a sunset-viewing walk.

• Time: 17:00 (approx. 3.5 hours)
• Distance: 12km
• Rating: Medium – rocky paths with some loose stones underfoot. There is an ascent and a descent – with a total elevation gain of approx. 300m.

What to Bring

• Small backpack – so your hands are free
• At least 1.5L of water
• Snacks
• Comfortable walking shoes with good grip
• Sun protection (hat, sunblock)
• A torch! The return part of this walk takes place after sunset, so it will begin to get dark. Make sure to bring a torch or headlamp so you can see the path clearly on the way back.

🐾 Dogs welcome! Socialised and well-behaved dogs are allowed, on leads when required (on roads and some beaches).

Good to Know

• All our guides are trained and have the ability to lead groups, they all carry a first aid kit and use walkie talkies to keep in contact with a back marker to make sure the group stays together and are safe. We also have strict departure and return procedure to ensure everyone is accounted for.
• We have liability insurance, but do not have medical insurance – this is your responsibility. The trip and your safety is your responsibility and you must ensure you are covered for this prior to coming on the walk.
