Project Description
With the January weather already treating island residents and off-season visitors to some glorious sunny days – and our New Year intentions still fresh in mind – there has never been a better time to get involved with Walking Ibiza. Known for their beautiful guided nature treks that explore the island’s stunning countryside and coastline, taking part in one of the organisation’s expeditions is one of the best ways to get to know the island and its rich history and culture even better.
Upcoming routes include a ‘short and sweet’ dolphin lookout in the San Mateu area with popular island guide Sheila on January 24th, a trip to the legendary cave of light with Walking Ibiza founder Toby on January 26th and a walk through the flowering almond tree fields near San Llorenc led by guest guide John Redeyoff. Combining two of the island’s most magical experiences in one tour, there will also be a dedicated Full Moon Almond Blossom Walk on January 31st starting at 21.00 in Santa Agnes. Walk amidst 5,000 fragrant trees and see the silver moonshine bounce off a sea of white blossoms.
Those looking for a challenge this year should mark the 19th – 22nd of April in their calendars when the Original Four-Day Challenge kicks off, an adventure that sees participants circumnavigate the entire island of Ibiza by foot, kayak and bike. Test your fitness levels as you hike, swim in the sea, cycle and kayak in this adrenaline-fuelled adventure, with prices starting from 985€ per person – including transfers, initiation & briefing, most food – all homemade and nutritionally balanced – water and hotels, professional guides for kayaking, mountain biking (including all equipment), walking, and, finally, a celebration dinner on the final night.
Meanwhile, Walking Ibiza regulars who have come to love their expeditions with Sheila will delight in trying their hand at making one of the talented baker’s homemade cakes. Sheila’s creations have become a popular treat on her tours, leading her to publish her first recipe book – available to buy at the end of each of her walks.
