Event Details

Toby will lead the 1st Friday walk of 2019, doing a walk on the 1st of January would not really work on Ibiza so we have given you a few days to recover from DC10 or the swim at Ses Salinas. We hope you are ready to come and explore the North coastline and find the stunning hidden bay of Es Portixol which can only be accessed by walking or boat so its a real gem of a place.

We reach the bay by taking the new fisherman’s path which hugs the cliffs and passes an interesting old settlement complete with an ancient steam room. If we are brave maybe we will take a swim at the bay before taking the old fisherman’s path which snakes its way through the forest giving wonderful views back down to the bay.

Afterwards lunch can be taken at Can Sulayetas restaurant.

DATE & TIME:
Friday 4th January – 10.00h

MEETING POINT:
The parking is close to the restaurant Can Sulayetas (do not park at Can Sulayetas as they get annoyed!). Drive past the restaurant on your right. Then bear left and continue on the tarmac road for 500 meters. When you come to a fork on the road with a blue stone and a Ruta 18/20 sign keep left and after a few meters you will see the parking where Toby waits for you.

Limited parking so please car share if possible.

You don’t have to make a reservation for our community walks. You just can show up at the meeting point.

What to bring on the walks:
A small backpack so your hands are free
At least 1.5 litres of water
Some snacks to keep you going
Good foot wear that has been worn in, trainers are generally ok as long as they have good grip.
Sunblock if required

Torch for night time walks
Light shower coat, just in case

We have walking poles available to assist you if required.

DONATION: The walks are by donation of 10€ per person, the BIG WALKS are by donation of 15€ per person. It’s important for us that the walks are accessible to all and if you are on a very tight budget then we also except exchanges like some nice chocolate, something home made or a hug!

DOGS: If you have a lovely well trained dog which is also socialized please bring them along. They will need to be on a lead on the roads & some of the beaches .

INSURANCE: We have liability insurance, but do not have medical insurance – this is your responsibility.

GUIDES: All our guides are trained and have the ability to lead groups, they all carry a first aid kit and use walkie talkies to keep in contact with a back marker to make sure the group stays together and are safe. We also have strict departure and return procedure to ensure everyone is accounted for.

The trip and your safety is your responsibility and you must ensure you are covered for this prior to coming on the walk.

Let us know if you have any questions.
